Call for papers on LanguageQuests extended

Computer Resources for Language Learning (CORELL) is an international, peer-reviewed e-journal which releases annual issues on all aspects of research on computer resources in foreign language learning.

 

An editorial team supported by Ton Koenraad as guest-editor is preparing a monographic issue of CORELL on LanguageQuests, to be published December 2009.

 

 

 

CALL FOR PAPERS

 

 

CORELL: Computer Resources for Language Learning

 

 

CORELL is an international, peer-reviewed e-journal which releases annual issues on all aspects of research on computer resources in foreign language learning. Topics may include, but are not limited to: the Internet, computer-mediated communication, CALL software and electronic resources.

 

An editorial team, supported by Ton Koenraad as guest-editor, is preparing a monographic issue of CORELL on LanguageQuests, to be published December 2009.

 

Theme: LanguageQuests in Language Education

 

Target audiences: second / foreign language teachers, language teacher educators and researchers

 

Goals and Objectives:

a) supporting practitioners at secondary and university levels to implement languagequests by informing them on:

  • useful and interesting insights into Implementation issues and practical hints
  • descriptions of actual practices and experiences
  •  available resources

 

b) supporting teacher educators to implement Languagequest production & assessment modules by describing actual training practices in this area

c) providing researchers with a review of Web- and Languagequest related research covering issues like effectiveness and elaboration on theoretical underpinnings

 

 

 

Suggestions for Possible Articles, themes and contents

 

  • LanguageQuests in educational practice
  • Introducing the Web / LanguageQuest concept to pre-service teachers
  • LanguageQuests in Education. Focus on teacher competencies and Implementation issues
  • How effective is the use of LanguagQuests in Language Education?
  • The theoretical underpinnings of the LanguageQuest Assessment Tool
  • Design issues in WebQuests for primary education promoting language development

 

 

 

 

Important dates

 

-          Deadline for submission of papers: 2 November

-          Notification of acceptance: 25 November

-          Publication: December 2009
